Shipping/Production Update - 26th July 2021
As mentioned in our last update, we have 17,000 miners shipping soon.
We’re still on track to have these 17,000 miners ready to ship from our manufacturer by the end of this week/early next week. We will be sharing details on the split between us & distributors shortly. This should cover the remaining units from batch 2, batch 3 and the beginning of batch 4.
Outdoor Miner - Powering the miner
As a reminder, the Outdoor Miner doesn’t come with a power supply as standard. This is because we leave it up to you to choose between using a standard 12V 1.5A power supply or powering the device via PoE by using a PoE injector. The PoE injector must provide 48V to devices and an 802.3af compatible injector is recommended.
To use a power supply you need to change the power jumper to DC. The jumper needs to be put on Pins 2 and 3 (the pink box below highlights the power jumper).
The first few days of owning a miner & what to expect
Volunteer & community member David Akers recently put together a fantastic guide detailing what to expect from your hotspot within the first few days of setting it up. We highly recommend reviewing this guide whilst you’re waiting for your miner to arrive.
Issues and Troubleshooting
No Onboarding Key issue
We now have a fix for this issue. We recommend any customer experiencing the No Onboarding Key issue to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We’ll be able to provide a remote fix.
We mentioned this in our last blog post but, as a reminder, Helium Hotspots ideally require a port to be forwarded on the network (port 44158) to work at their best. To help the community we've created guides to cover as many network setups as possible. You can view those guides here: https://helium.nebra.com/handy-guides/port-forwarding/overview
